One of the main things we all want to do when we get into blogging is to make money from our blog. I mean, who doesn’t want to earn passive income while we are doing other things? And who knows, maybe you can even replace your current income, like many bloggers have done.
The great thing about digital products is that you create them once and can sell them over and over again. And because they are digital, they are delivered to your customer instantly without having any need for overhead, postage, packing supplies or other items. It runs virtually seamlessly and on auto-pilot, which is freakin’ awesome.
To figure out what to create, take a look at your popular posts and see what you could create to go along with that post. Have a look on Pinterest and see what others are offering. Now don’t copy them, but use them for inspiration for your own items. Remember that what you are selling has to be something that people are willing to pay to have.
So what kinds of items can you sell on your blog to earn you some extra moolah? Here’s 7 of them…
This was one of the ways that I actually started making money on my blog myself. I created various planners that I sold in my Etsy planner shop. I loved creating the planners so much that it never felt like “work” and I was able to make a lot of extra money by selling them.
If you have a knack for taking photos you just might be able to sell them online. This was also something that I started with as well. I really enjoyed taking stock photos of pretty layouts for fellow bloggers. So I gathered some props, got out my camera and started snapping away. I put together some big bundles, figured out at a great price and put them in my second Etsy shop for sale. They did really well! But you can sell all kinds of types of photos on various sites like Shutterstock, Fotolia, iStock photo, and so many others.
If you have knowledge in just about any area, you can sell online courses to teach others how to do something. Using sites like Teachable and Udemy people can pay for your course and learn at their own pace. I have personally taken courses from other bloggers and learned so much! People are always looking to learn new things and if you have the formula for how to do something that you can share via an online course, do it!
Writing and selling your own books is a huge business. You can create an e-book for your audience based on your knowledge and experience and sell it online.
I don’t know about you, but one of my fave things about blogging is the creative aspect of creating the graphics that go along with it. If you have a penchant for creating items that other bloggers can use, you can likely sell them.
I really enjoy creating printable items and they are something that are relatively easy to do and can bring in some good money. There are bloggers who create and sell printables as their sole business. Everything from planners, cards, invitations, stickers, etc. Many people use printables every single day in some shape or form. There are all kinds of printable things that you can create and sell for profit.
If designing this is your kind of thing, then why not create templates that others can purchase and adapt for their own use. People who aren’t particularly design-savvy are always on the lookout for ready-made designs that they can then edit to their liking and/or brand. This can vary from things like website templates, social media post templates (like Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram), media kits, resumes, or any other array of things.
