Isn’t it funny how some people just seem to have their lives so together? I’ve always admired those that have everything “just so”. Seems like things magically fall into place for them. But is that what really happens or is it just our perception when in reality it takes dedication and hard work?
And after years and years of life experience (gosh am I really this old?), I feel like I actually have my own life together. Sure, there are hiccups here and there and the occasional bump along the way, but all in all, here’s how I managed to get everything in order (at least for the most part!).
8 ways to get your life together:
Have confidence in yourself
Self-confidence is a wonderful thing because once you start believing in yourself, amazing things start to happen and you become a person who can do anything. Remember not to compare yourself to others, and adopt the mindset that “I will do me” and “You can do you”. Focus on yourself and learn your strengths, weaknesses, and areas where you can learn and grow.
Start with a positive outlook on life
Sure, this sounds easy in theory and you know what? It can be. Even negative things can often be turned into positive things if you actually think about the issue. Make a concerted effort to complain less and look for the good in things. Starting to do this actually gets your brain thinking this way more frequently and you will do it more often.

Have the right mindset
It’s like anything in life, if you want it to happen, you will work to make it happen. If you want to get your life together, you will take the necessary steps to ensure it happens.
Be happy with what you have
If you are the type that is always striving to have more, do more, achieve more, then chances are you will never be satisfied. There’s nothing wrong with setting goals and working to achieve them, but if you are constantly in a rut because you don’t have a certain level of living that you want, then learn to be happy with what you have. Life in general isn’t about getting what you want all the time, it’s about being content with what you have.
Have a plan for yourself
I love to make vision boards for myself. It’s a stimulating way to see things I hope to do and goals I want to make for myself. One way to do this is by doing it the old fashion way and cutting things out of magazines or by printing out photos you find on the internet and then putting them on a piece of bristol board, or a cork board or whatever you like. Another way is by using Pinterest and creating a board on there to pin various images. The nice thing about making one on Pinterest is that you can carry it with you on your phone at any time for a visual reference.
Create a daily plan for yourself and your life
Accomplishment is a foundation for feeling good. When we accomplish things, we instantly feel better about our day. Did you know that even making your bed each day sets you up for success? It does! It’s one of the first accomplishments of the day that you can do. Start setting out a daily plan for yourself and you’ll be amazed at how productive you can be. Not sure how to start? Simplify your life
Ever notice when there’s too many choices for something it makes things harder? For instance, an ice cream shop with 200 flavors (sounds ah-mazing) is way harder to choose a flavor than one with only 6. And that’s because simpler is easier. Try to simplify things for yourself whether it be by getting more organized or by decluttering your space, your home, your work or whatever. Streamlining processes is another way to make better use of your time. Remember, you want to work smarter, not harder.

Maintain a clean space
Messiness is a recipe for stress and exhaustion, or at least it is to me. A space that is neat and tidy increases productivity because you waste less time looking for things, misplacing things, and cleaning it up. If cleaning isn’t your thing, make it a fun thing to do by cranking your favorite music, listening to a podcast, or some other audible thing that you can play out loud while you work.
